Murphy has been teaching children from kindergarten to eighth grade for seventeen years. Using song, dance, and storytelling, she has made learning fun for her students. As a community activist who has embraced her African heritage, she has also written numerous articles about the history and culture of Africans in various parts of the world and has received many awards.
