About Us
Our commitment to excellence:
Engage readers with thought provoking, visually compelling content. Connect the stories with facts that make the books relevant to today’s kids. Strive to give a fair and balanced accounting, whether telling the stories of Canada’s prime ministers, discussing scientific concepts like stem-cell research, or tackling some of “life’s big questions” like creation and death.
Inspire children by emphasizing the human side of life that helps them relate to the people and events that came before them. Spark visions of their own potential greatness. Kindle an active interest in subjects like government, politics, scientific exploration, economics, and religion.
Educate kids by giving them all the facts so that they can learn to think for themselves. Teach children the richness of cultural diversity and respect for their own heritage. Demonstrate the importance of participating in the world around them. Give them all sides to a story and let them make up their own minds about the issues that affect their lives, now, and in the future.
Our commitment to outstanding writing and research makes our books excellent resources for specific subject matter and non-fiction literary arts.
Jacqueline Brown founded JackFruit Press in 2004 and immediately started to research and write Sir John A. Macdonald: The rascal who built Canada. Since then, she has commissioned numerous writers, editors, and illustrators from across the country to help her complete the series about the lives and times of all 22 Canadian PMs.
